The breeze is gentle, the clouds are light, and the sky is brilliantly blue, as clear as if washed clean. At 8 a.m., Deputy General Manager Jian drove the business vehicle into the sunlight, allowing the warmth to melt the thick frost on the windshield—so cold in winter that even the wipers had stopped working. A group of five members from the company’s Party branch set off by car toward Guanqiao Primary School in Huanglong Township, 68 kilometers away, to carry out a student-aid program.

At 9:30, we arrived at the school gate. Comrades from the Guanqiao Primary School Charity Foundation were already waiting there, warmly welcoming us together with Principal Jiang and escorting us into the teachers’ office. During a brief conversation, we learned that this primary school has only six classes across its six grades, totaling 96 students and 10 teachers—over 90% of whom are left-behind children. This string of figures weighed heavily on everyone present—the number of people who can return to their hometowns to care for these children is ultimately quite small.

The school administration, the village committee, the Charity Foundation, and members of our Party branch jointly participated in this semester’s interim recognition ceremony. Our Party branch presented the children with scholarships and school supplies, spreading warmth and hope to them. The playground was bathed in bright sunshine, and the children’s eyes sparkled dark and luminous—within those eyes lay a world of pure and beautiful innocence. Their smiles added an intense warmth to this winter visit. The teachers were both kind and full of energy; we sincerely thank them for their unwavering dedication to rural education. As we prepared to leave, comrades from the school administration, the village committee, and the Charity Foundation once again expressed their heartfelt gratitude to us, making this mutual bond of warmth all the more precious.

Before setting off, our Party branch thoroughly studied the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized, “We must remain true to our original aspiration, keep the people’s interests at heart when addressing issues, and ensure and improve people’s livelihoods through development, steadily advancing toward common prosperity.” This important statement is highly consistent with the plenum’s requirement that “the fundamental purpose is to meet the people’s ever-growing needs for a better life.” As we observed at Guanqiao Primary School, among the 96 students, more than 90% lack parental companionship; their growth urgently calls for warmth and support from all sectors of society. This aid-to-education initiative is a vivid embodiment of enterprises fulfilling their social responsibilities—by providing modest financial assistance and school supplies to these children, we not only offer material help but also provide them with spiritual encouragement. Isn’t this precisely a practical manifestation of the concept of “common prosperity”? By spreading warmth through small yet meaningful actions, we can ensure that rural education is no longer isolated and that every child can thrive under the sun. This is exactly the small contribution we are making toward realizing the people’s aspirations for a better life.
